Susan G. Komen for the Cure Race for the CureMiles of Men On September 15th, 2007 JCE Financial Group sponsored Miles of Men which is a campaign targeted toward men as co-survivors that offered an opportunity for men to show their support through Komen’s largest single fundraising event, The Race for the Cure.
Survivor Celebration 2005 and 2006 JCE Financial Group presented the event which welcomes over 500 breast cancer survivors and co-survivors from the Northeast Ohio area. The attendees enjoyed lunch, a special recognition presented by WKYC’s health reporter Monica Robins, and entertainment. Tour for the Cure Preview Party The Tour for the Cure event, which benefited the northeast Ohio affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, allowed the public to step inside a luxury model home, built by P. Perrino Custom Homes, and take a look at the latest trends in home design, decorating and building materials. In addition, all attendees were able to register for the chance to win $25,000 in furniture from Wayside Furniture and other raffle items. The Preview Party, which was sponsored by the local office of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, kicked off the three week long tour of the home located in the new Sterling Lakes community on Brainard Road in Pepper Pike, Ohio. At the Preview Party over 200 guests, who were the first to enter the new home, enjoyed hors d’ourves and cocktails. Among the attendees were Romona Robinson and Tim White of WKYC TV 3 who spoke of the important mission of the Komen Foundation. In addition, John Ertz, Managing Partner of the local network office of Northwestern Mutual told the story of his wife, Kim, and her battle and victory over breast cancer. Kim is an 8-year breast cancer survivor and both John and Kim are committed to their continuing involvement with the Komen Northeast Ohio Affiliate. Kids for the Cure
John Ertz, Managing Partner of JCE Financial Group, his wife, Kiman 8-year survivor and their two children, Natalie and Charlie, walked and participated in the festivities while other members of the team manned the registration table. "We had a great time and are proud to be a part of such an important mission," said John. The network office looks forward to continuing its relationship with the local affiliate of The Komen Foundation.
